The Isabel Voices to Perform at Ely Cathedral, Cambridge, UK in June 2025

[Kington, May 29, 2024] – The Isabel Voices is thrilled to announce it has received a special invitation to sing renowned choral composer Dr. Dan Forrest's "CREATION" at the historic Ely Cathedral in Cambridge, UK in June 2025, presented by Vox Anima London. Joining 120 singers from across Europe and the USA, along with a world class orchestra, The Isabel Voices will represent Canada in this landmark performance of Forrest’s newest work, bringing together international talent for an extraordinary musical event.

It is a tremendous honour that The Isabel Voices has also been invited to open the concert with a solo performance of the breath of life, a work that launched its inaugural concert season this year. This opportunity marks an incredible milestone for The Isabel Voices, as it has been invited to participate in this tour by Dan Forrest following its first ever concert as an organization.

Dr. Forrest expresses his enthusiasm for the collaboration: "I’m delighted that the Canadian choir The Isabel Voices will present the European premiere of my work the breath of life at Ely Cathedral in England in June 2025. This is the only one of my major works not yet to have been premiered in Europe, so this will be an important introduction of the work to European audiences.

The work will also be paired with my new 'CREATION' oratorio on the same concert; this pairing will work beautifully since the breath of life is a weighty work that deals with struggle and loss, but it will then be followed by the exuberant joy and dancing of 'CREATION.' I very much look forward to having Isabel Voices with us on this program."

Dr. James M. Meaders, Founder and Artistic Director of Vox Anima London, also shares his excitement: "As the conductor of the festival performance of Dan Forrest's 'CREATION' at Ely Cathedral in June 2025, I was delighted to be introduced to the gifted singers of The Isabel Voices and their outstanding Artistic Director, Darrell Christie. In addition to the crucial role that The Isabel Voices will play in the festival chorus, they will open the concert with a solo performance of Dr. Forrest's the breath of life -- a perfect complementary selection that leads seamlessly into the emerging melodies of 'CREATION.'"

This event promises to be a memorable occasion, showcasing the talents of The Isabel Voices and celebrating the power of choral music to unite and inspire.

To support this exciting opportunity, members of The Isabel Voices will be fundraising through a number of activities throughout the coming season. Members of the public are invited to lend their support and help make this dream a reality. Donations can be made online at www.isabelvoices.ca/donate.
